Adirondack Nationals Car Show Held annually the weekend after Labor Day, this show features classic cars, special events, music and more. Now in its 28th year, the Adirondack Nationals Car Show is going on now through September 11 at the Fort William Henry Hotel and Conference in the Village of Lake George. The show brings in thousands of car enthusiasts from all over the country, and beautifully maintained vintage automobiles parade down Canada Street every night.
Jazz at the Lake Enjoy free concerts by talented jazz musicians all weekend long on the shores of Lake George. This year’s Lake George Jazz Weekend will be held on September 17 & 18 at the amphitheater in Shepard’s Park on Canada Street in Lake George. It features a variety of well-known jazz musicians and is considered one of the best of its kind in the country.
The Adirondack Balloon Festival This four-day free event is the oldest and largest hot air balloon festival on the East Coast, set against the beautiful backdrop of the Adirondack Mountains. This year’s 44th Annual Adirondack Balloon Festival will be held September 22-25 at Crandall Park in Glens Falls and the Floyd Bennett Memorial Airport in Queensbury. Hundreds of balloonists from around the globe are expected to descend upon the area for this spectacular event.
Hiking in the Adirondacks Cooler temperatures, colorful leaves and smaller crowds make fall the perfect time for a Lake George hiking adventure. Enjoy fantastic views of the lake from the neighboring mountains, or challenge yourself with a hike into the Adirondacks. Whether you’re a beginner, an expert, or somewhere in between, Lake George has a hiking trail for you.
Lake George Steamboat Company Cruises depart daily from the southern tip of Lake George, offering breathtaking views of the fall foliage around the shores of the lake. From the one-hour paddle wheeler tour to dinner cruises and themed excursions, the Lake George Steamboat Company offers a variety of cruise lengths and times through October.
